Any way to install HPT374 without a floppy drive?

I know that some people here are running without floppy drivers and currently, so am I (had to sacrifice it for my water cooling setup).

Unfortunately, I see no way of re-installing Windows XP without a floppy drive because my hard disk is on a SATA controller.

Previously, I had to hit F6 on the keyboard during the install process to supply the HPT374 file from a floppy (and only the floppy drive will be checked, which is stupid) but now I ditched the floppy drive, I feel screwed.

I tried making a Windows XP CD with the HPT files in the I386 directory but Windows still wanted the floppy. Any suggestions?

I always keep a working floppy drive around, even if I rarely use it. If I need it, I open the case up & temporarily hook it up, use it for what I need, then remove it & close everything back up.

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing too. I hooked the floppy up, used it and then disconnected it and put it back.

I really wish that we could not need floppy drives in the future though.

Maybe in 50 years, LOL! ;)
