Anyone Else not getting bigadv bonus points?

Hey guys,

I was just curious if anyone else was noticing they weren't getting credit for completed bigadv work units. I have 2 rigs that have been set up for several months folding bigadv with no problems, and getting appropriate credit. Last week we were without power for several days due to severe weather and this obviously shut down these rigs.

At the end of last week the power was restored and I resumed folding on these rigs. The bigadv units that they were working on just before the power went out were passed the deadline, and the clients actually noticed that fact and shut down the units. They promptly downloaded the next unit to work on.

A couple of days ago I had noticed the one rig finished its first bigadv unit since the power outage (the newly downloaded unit) and I didn't see it get appropriate credit. It got only 8k points or so. I chalked it up to a fluke... maybe the unit was old, expired, or hadn't finished in time for some reason.

But then yesterday, the other machine finished a bigadv (the second on this machine I believe since restoring power) and it definitely did not receive appropriate credit.

I know that the bigadv point bonus has been changed, but hfm is showing that these units are still worth at least 55k when completed on time and both of these computers only received the core value with no bonus. They were both receiving bonuses for months so I am not sure what could have changed in the past couple of weeks.

One rig is an i7 920 and the other is an i7 950. Below is the log... Any ideas or similar experiences would be appreciated.

I don't see anything in the log... did you check your passkey to make sure it did not get changed some how.

Have you gone through all the logs to make sure you didn't get a batch of EUE's.............To qualify for bonus you need to maintain 80% successful completion rate..........

I didn't realize that an 80% success rate was required for bonus points. I went over the logs and didn't see a single EUE... Also curious to this situation is that I said I didn't see bonus points for 2 separate machines.... Each machine is also separate in that each has a different username and passkey. (one is for one team member and the other is for another) I just host the computers for them.

I noticed the ppd decrease in hfm when I updated it. Both machines' ppd dropped expectedly and the overall value of the units has dropped from on average 70-75k to 55-60k.

I will check to ensure the passkeys are correct but I would find it really odd that they changed haha. These two rigs are in a computer closet and don't even have monitors or keyboards hooked up to them. I remote into them from time to time to make sure everything is running smoothly. They've been happily folding away for months, getting nice bonuses and have remained untouched...

I will further investigate. Thanks for the tips guys. I really appreciate it. Any other ideas are welcome. I guess nobody else is having difficulties receiving bonus points then? haha

The only other thing i can think of is the work server has an earlier recorded date/time for the download of the WU than that showing in the log........

Are you *sure* when the rig downloaded a new work unit after the power outage that it wasn't the same it was working on before the power outage??

I looked over the log that is available starting the day power returned. I will post it below. I see a part in there where the client realizes the unit's deadline has passed and dumps it. Then it downloads what appears to be a different work unit.

all in all, i'd say 3-4 bigadv units have been folded total by these two rigs in the past week and neither has actually gotten a bonus. I was unsure at first because kakaostats was down and when it came back up on monday, it was inaccurate for the 24 hour points production because it showed all of the points accumulated in the few days it was down as one single update. amazing how much I rely on kakaostats to keep an eye on other team members daily production.

I just remoted into the machines and checked the client.cfg Both machines have the correct passkeys. This is a curious situation. Two machines that were working great on bigadv now only get core values for such work units...

Is there any particular way to even email pande group and find out why the bonus points weren't issued... perhaps they have a reason.

I can see that posting my questions about bonus points on the stanford folding forum can actually result in them looking up information regarding the completed units. I am gonna wait for the two current work units to finish and see if they get bonuses.... maybe i just have to wait for them to submit a few more (post power outage)

A common reason for no bonus is when a work unit fails in the middle of a work unit, the client will download that same work unit again (by design to deter work unit dumping), and may process it to the end the 2nd time around. However, deadline is still calculated from the first download time (by design, to prevent points cheating).

Posting the WU info on the Folding Forum would allow a Mod over there to check on this for you.
