Is it to go in the AMD rig in your signiture? If so, dont go for it. PC4000 hates tight timings and to get the best performance out of an AMD rig tight timings are needed. The P4 works better with tighter timings but it doesnt seem to matter as much on the P4 as long as the RAS-to-CAS is tight. Some good quality Corsair PC3500 will be better. You can almost guarantee Corsair will do more than its rated for and it will allow for tight timings. PC3700 will allow for higher FSBs but doesnt like tight timings.

yes it is for an amd system, see sig

i'm perfectly happy with what i got right now it's just the price for the ultra mem is right so i thought it may be worth a try...

i would assume the higher fsb would compensate for the looser timings

PC4000 is a bad choice for AMD systems period. That 228 mHz fsb is about as high as you'll ever see without a vmod on that NF7. Even if you were to get a higher fsb, it wouldn't compensate for the hit in latency. You'd be a lot better off with a BH-5 based stick that can give you past 220 with tight timings.
