i'm tryin' to help a newbie, i'm wondering what, if any, settings are in it's bios
he can't seem to change his multiplier anywhere???
possibly any RAM settings also? tryin' to see why he won't post.

this thread is in AMD CPU's called "change multiplier, yeah right" or somethin' like that... it's drivin' this guy nuts, any help over here is appreciated by myself, and moreso by him :)

i was just about to post this saying YES I HAVE ONE, YES ME ME ME!....but it is me you're talking about! ...cheers n2 for ya support...it really is a challenge.....id just like to add, incase you missed it people, ive tried changing the multiplier via the actual Duron 850Mhz chip by joining/closing the L6, L3 and L4 bridges(and yes, i did do it accordingly...no errors), but it wouldnt post, so i had to put it back to 850Mhz. maybe theres further adjustments required on the motherboard to my make my dream come true with this alienated motherboard from alien land in alien universe.....or from Wales.

this explorer 6.0 is a real big pile of crap BTW!!!

you're welcome :)

please take my advice in going back stock for like a day of heavy useage.
reason is, ya gotta be sure the changes to the bridges are absolutely solid.
i'm not exactly doubting ya, but i would do it myself. this IS some tricky stuff.
once you KNOW you're stable stock, and temps have been recorded idle and load... do the bumping of the FSB like i posted.
but please be patient... theres no need to rush this, and killing that chip would be real sad.
i also think you should save up some cash for a real nice mobo that will be loaded with all those features you're wanting. personally, before i'd go ahead and solder or mod the mobo, i'd be sure i have another board standin' by... cuz we all know... fubar happens!

i could buy a new mobo, but what am i supposed to do with my old mobo then?
