hey bud, im probably going to buy that board there, the A7A266 really soon, just wanted to know if your having any problems with it and would you recomend it? How was the setup? I am fairly new to all of this, so any advice is appreciated!

It is the most stable motherboard I have ever used! but what pisses me off is that they left out the last dipswitches for the multiplier >_< so I wasnt to happy about that... but I hear they released one with all the dipswitches ^_^ so make sure you pick that one up

yea ive heard the same thing. But there is what people are saying is such an easy mod that it really shoudnt even be called a mod, which allows u to change the multiplyers even on the old versions of the A7A266. I saw a link around here not to long ago, if I find it ill post it here.

Do you guys recomend newer version of Bios for the A7A? If so what one would I get to take me from the defualt mobo bios to the good one. I went to that site and got real confused lol, so many things to download.

hmm.. from what I can tell from the 1005.003 Beta bios it seems a bit more unstable... so wait untill they bring out the completed version and just go with 1004 for now to be on the safe side

Here you can get 1005 Bios for A7A .............

..jubei..,
I was wondering if you knew if the 1005 BIOS revision had the option to change the CPU multiplyer. Right now I am using the DIP switches to get my 1.2 AXIA @ 1.4GHz on the A7A266 but I can't get any higher. I am thinking if I increase the voltage of the core I can go higher since 1.4 is totally stable and hasnt given my 1 problem yet, but 1.466GHz wouldn't get into Windows at all.

Thanks,

One thing about the A7A266 is watch out when attaching the HSF cuz there is a very small resistor placed right next to the notch that the hsf holds on to and it is very easy to break loose, I did it and killed the board. If that resistor comes detached the system will refuse to post and you had better be a expert with a soldering iron to reattach it if you havenot lost it.

Does this topic say "Idiots who rip resistors off?"? no it doesnt.. so please.. we dont care about your lack of intelligence in the field of HSF attachment... now take your whining elsewhere

Uhh.. don't you consider that a little mean and not neccessary. His statement was to help others to not make the same mistake he did. Next time I switch my HSF I will be sure to see what he is talking about and not make the same mistake.
And please, if you don't have anything nice to sice, refrain from saying stupid sh*t like your post.

whats your temps?

If you were referring to me, my idle temps is about 45°C and my load temp after playing UT for an hour or two runs at 52°C. I haven't had a single problem running this hot and I'm using the OCZ Gladiator w/ Arctic Silver II.
