Anyone undervolting/underclocking Tbreds or Durons?

I'm just wondering if anyone around here is using a Tbred-B or Applebred Duron in an HTPC box or something. I'm really looking to see what kind of results you guys can get on about 1.3v. Any information will be appreciated!

James.Miller had his at 1.3V a while ago iirc.

I'd imagine you'd be ok for like 1500mhz with a good stepping at 1.3Vcore.

Well, I've got a laptop that has a Mobile Athlon 4 1ghz in it right now, and I'm going to get a cheap Duron or Tbred-B to see if I can get 1.5 or so at 1.3v or 1.45v. Then I'll use the L5 mod to make it a mobile chip. At least that's my theory anyway. :) True mobile Athlons are too expensive. There's no reason it shouldn't work.

I have been testing out lower speed ranges that are useable (I am exploring what my "new" air cooled overclock will look like while my water system is undergoing re-vamping and upgrading :)) with low Vcores, and 2200 MHz with a 1.45 Vcore is 24 hour prime95 stable with my 1800+ Throughbred.

200 X 11, 1.45 Vcore, 29 Degrees Celcius load :). I haven't tried anything lower than a 1.45 Vcore - but I suspect 2 GHz should be obtainable on a 1.3 Vcore, 1800 MHz at the least.

I saw a thread a while ago where a guy was running his 1700+ stably at stock speed with a 1.1 Vcore!!! :)eek: ).

Undervolted and Overclocked - that's the way the *real* O/Cers do it! ;) :p :santa:

My main rig, when operable runs at 1.45vcore at 2Ghz. It's a tbred B applebred duron. It would be going faster and with a higher voltage but I cant change voltage or multiplier on my motherboard, even though it's unlocked, and the motherboard undervolts the processor. It's been at 193*10.5 at this voltage, but the ram wasn't stable, even though the processor was, so I have it at 189*10.5 right now. Oh yeah, it is at between 29-31 at load, depending on room temperature on air. Highest temp I ever saw was 58C, but that was when the fan died on me.

I saw a member here running his 1700+ @ stock speed with as low as 1.1v, the lowest the mobo can do

Good to hear! I'm probably going to pick up a Duron 1.4 or 1.6 and see what it can do. I would love to run my laptop at 2ghz, but I don't want to spend more than $40 on a chip and I doubt the Durons will be capable of running 2ghz at 1.45v or less. Anyone else have experiences with undervolting?

Ive had overclocked 1700s on 1.4v with no probs...

Umm, look up at my post. I have a 1.4 duron on the brown pcb and it's doing 2Ghz on 1.45 volts.

Sorry about that, I must not have been reading straight. ;) I had a Duron 1.4 that would do 2ghz on stock voltage, so I know they're pretty good... but I don't know what the chances of me getting one as good as yours are. I think I'm going to pull the trigger and order one, though.

Yeesh, I'm not looking to go that low. I want to get at least 1500mhz at 1.45v. That should be easy enough. Anything over that is just icing. :) This will be an experiment to see if desktop chips can be converted into real mobile chips too.
