I was thinking about a seven contest for finding new computers to fold for team 32. The new machines have to turn in a WU before midnight (PST) on Friday of next week.

I challenge you all to go out and find friends, family, co-workers, or who ever else to add to team 32. You can have them fold under your name, or their own, either way. We'll just have to go on the honor system for sign-up's that are not on an individuals name. Furthermore, you can also score by getting a dormant member to start folding again.

We could judge progress by either Mhz or strictly by number of processors.

I cannot think of a prize for such an endeavor except for our utmost respect.... any comments, questions, or suggestions?

Wedo, I would participate, but thats been my goal along. I've been trying to get some new folders on the team, just taking them awhile to do their own research and etc.. before they're convinced. So, unless I happen along someone else and talk them into it, I'm at the end of my rope:( Granted there's always more ppl's to introduce this to, but my job keeps me fairly isolated from the real world, don't get much of a chance to meet new ppl's. Nevertheless, I'm still trying!:D

Thanks Tweaked, it was just an idea. :)

Looking for anything that would help out, but I guess we're all trying to pull in new members anyway....

Hey Wedo, They're all good ideas, don't give up. You never know, with everyone throwing in the ideas we might get a hold of one that gets someone thinking. Been trying to pitch this to a buddy @ work, but he doesn't seem to want to have an open mind about it. I told him a nice sharp axe up side the head would open up a few insights;)

It's amazing how typical household and lawn equipment, when swung repeatedly about someone's head and shoulders, can give a person a whole new outlook on life, or folding for that matter.

I'm finding it hard to explain as well. My techno-phobe friends, albiet brilliant in other ways, do not understand the process of folding and conclude that there is too much advanced computer knowledge needed.

/grabbing small hand shovel - I'll make them understand bwhahahahaha

Well, it's good to see I'm not the only one thinking this way;)
Yeah, I pitched to him and he said " maybe I'm just being selfisf, but I'm not sharing my puter w/ noone. I'll keep all my cpu cycles for myself"... Man, I thought that was kinda closedminded. Even after I showed him what it was all about, that was his remark. He's one of the reasons I'm not able to get work to participate. We've got at least 25 puters at 1500mhz p4's, and 50 p166's and up. :( I'm still trying though:cool:
