I am using an Alpha PAL 8045 with an 80mm 40cfm Panaflo. If any of you have experience upgrading from the 8045 to a Thermalright SLK900 or better I would love to know what kind of cooling performance increase you saw.

I am currently overclocking a mobile barton to 2300 MHz @ 1.65v and the cpu temp is reaching 54/55 under load. My 8045 is just having a hard time keeping up with the heat the cpu is putting out at this level.

I think that your thread is a little too specific to get an answer. But in a non-specific answer, most people get a large reduction in temps by going with either the SP-97 or SLK900 hs. SVC sells both for a reasonable price, so you could give either one a try for about 30-45 bucks.
