going from ata100 to ata133 gave me no noticable performance increase at all. ATA133 was just a market hype...nothing more.

I agree: Little or no improvement. I have basically continued acquiring the ATA-133 drives because that is what Maxtor is making and the price meets what I am looking for.

Actually, ATA133 will show fairly large performance gains in RAID0 combos. The more drives you have, the less latency and more peformance will be required to keep those drives in sync!

i'd go with the 8mb cache SE's if i were u, that's what i did
and my sandta scores actually almost resemble what they should in that crap bench :p
