A long time ago I downloaded a modified Doom demo in which all the monsters were replaced with Steve Case's head, the sounds replaced with "Welcome", "You've got mail", and so on, and the weapons modified to fire a variety of AOL diskettes. I've scoured the internet for years, but have never been able to locate another copy. About 2-3 years ago I hit a site with a broken download link for this game, but it's long since been taken down. I'm hoping there's someone out there who has a copy of this, or at least remembers it. Thanks in advance.

If you ever find it, please post a working link here. That sounds fantastic, haha.

That sounds hilarious. What's makes it more funny is that I just canceled my 56Kb/s AOL subscription about 8 months ago...

I've seen a pretty cool simpsons themed doom, a southpark one too but haven't seen the one you're talking about. Post a link if you do find it though.

omg, you are the FIRST person I've seen on the interwebs to have seen and played that too! It was the best. And the chainsaw is replaced by a spinning AOL disk. After you kill his head he says, "Thank you, Goodbye".

Such a great Doom variant. I tried looking for it forever and never found it. If you do happen to find it, PLEASE post a link here!

Not AOL but Doom related, I had WAD kit that I downloaded off BBS forum that turned Doom into a very well done Star Wars theme reminiscent of Princess rescue inside Death Star. The best weapon was a light saber but variety of blasters were available.

I wonder if someone has a web site with collection of wad's for original Doom? You could play them all and not get the impression it's the same ol' Doom at all. :D

There are a few sites with WAD collections, but after a quick search I couldn't find anything AOL Doom like.

This site has some information...

http://www.doomarchive.com/

This site has more

http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/

and even has some nice Doom Wad reviews

http://www.doomworld.com/10years/bestwads/

(and the rest of the years are below)

http://www.doomworld.com/cacowards/

The parent URL, of course, is here

http://www.doomworld.com/

I do have some old CDs with wads on them, haven't looked for the disks or what was on them yet. However, without knowing what the wad was called or alike, I'm not having much finding anything about it. It does sound interesting though.

Neat! I bet it is in there somewhere... where's the download link for that torrent? I don't have anywhere near 900 gigs to download it to, but maybe it's in pieces? Anyone started downloading this yet?

Hell, I admire your honesty.... You can come over to my house and BLANK my sister....<PUNCH*IN*THE*GUT!!!!!!>

What's a 56k AOL subscription...
;)

Yep, in first half 2009 there was only 56Kb/s dial up available to me, then I switched to satellite internet. That sucked b/c the ping was 1s (1000ms), so I couldn't even play D2. I could play it on 56Kb/s b/c it had better ping than satellite. About 3 months ago, DSL became available (1.5Mb/s DL, 768Kb/s UL) and that's what I have now :)

I have 12Mbps/2Mbps Cable.

Back in the days of 56k my dad had a dual ISDN setup coming into our home. 256Kbps up&down between two computers. Man Team Fortress FLEWW at those speeds.
