I am fairly new to Linux and web servers. I am going to be setting up an apache web server on my new linux box and was wondering if there are any sites that I could reference if i run into problems. Also, what version of apache is everyone running now? Obviously I would want to install the most secure version. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Not sure on this, but the two current versions are 2.0.something and 1.3.something. v2 will have more features, but 1.3 may be more secure.

The latest one in either 2.0 or 1.3 will be more secure for that branch. Bugs found in one and present in the other typically get fixed in both. The major differences are that 2.0 is a bit more bleeding edge and so has less support but cooler features.
