APK for mobile phone only install on a android tv box is it possibly

The question is
A have a APK from Google play store that works great on my phone (Ziggo Go)
it is a aplication for watching tv from my provider .
if i want to instal on my android tv box it wil not install due to not being a mobile device
is there a way around it

It’s been a while for me on the devloper side but back in the days of the galaxy note 2 apps can specify what type of device that they will work on and then the market place will filter the content. With a rooted device you should be able to get the apk from your phone and side load it onto your tv device.

Another option you could try is hacking your tv device and loading a custom firmware that flags it as compaitible.

The thing to keep in mind is your device doesn’t have a touch screen. It’s entirely possible that the program doesn’t implement a remote or game pad control mechanism. So even if you get it running you might not be able to interact with it.
