I took it out of my PC like I've done hundreds of times before, then put it back in, and suddenly it doesn't work. It's not being detected by my operating systems, and if I take out my other card and plug the monitor into it, nothing shows up.

The fan is going at 100% speed and if I start up my PC without the PCI-E power connector connected to it, it shrieks.

Any suggestions?

Do you mean putting it in the other PCI-E slot or taking the heatsink off and putting it on again?

I've tried both PCI-E slots, as well as on another PC and it still happens.

I think he means taking it out then putting it back in to make sure it is in correctly. Is there any dust in it?

I cleaned it with compressed air last week

the card is most probably broken, maybe when you pulled it out of the case you damaged something

but i could be wrong. if it doesn't work also on other mobos then it is probably dead, the last thing you can do is the
