Are all AMD XP 2500+ processors unlocked? If not, then that means some are and some aren't? How can I tell if it is going to be locked or unlocked when I am buying one? This goes for all other processors... say I'm buying a different AMD and want an unlocked... how will I know?

I guess I got an unlocked one...I'm changing the multiplier and it's staying changed...does that mean it's unlocked, or is it just a changable FSB?

if youre changing the multiplier, its unlocked. If you dont bellieve me, take off ur hsf and read the stepping, it should have when it was manufactured

dont be concerned about them being locked though. Even with the Multi locked at 11x its on the best setting. This way you can get a high fsb for good perfomance and get a high clock speed.

True, but im not maxed out at 440fsb for my chip =( my ram/NB are gonna hold me back. if you get a good chip that can do 2.5-2.7, then your gonna need some NICE ram and decent NB cooling... stock doesnt like to go past 250... o_O
