Do all the nvidea card manufactures follow the rules set by what they call the reference design?
The reason I ask is I have seen on my Gforce2 GTX card less than great 2d text and desktop.
OK I never looked at it till I had to share the monitor with another system I have that is a router, junky old ATI $49 card. WHAT THE F$%^& the desktop looked twice as clean and crisp chrs on the screen, brighter colors and just beat the hell out of the GF2.

Well I looked at other GF2's we have at work, in DELL computers, this is what they came with, and some look great and some look like crap. Thinking this was monitor and not video, or maybe something else, we took and swapped the cards in 2 that looked way different, one was great looking and the other crap. NOPE it "was" the card.
What is going on with these cards, some have nice crisp clean looking screens and some look like crap.

it's the refresh rate. Make sure it's set to "Optimal" for the bst quality and colours, and less of a dull look and flicker. See if that helps.

Or your monitor might be on a locked frequency controlled by the monitor DPSS(or something like that)
Look around the monitor's manual if the "optimal" doesnt work.
