Hey,

Got my 9800Pro it's the nuts.

But this seems very high frequencys.

500mhz Core (r350)
400Mhz Memory Samsung

Is this safe, or this is well above the safe side of overclocking.

I want this card to last for a while, I've got a VGA Artic Cooler Rev3 on there...

Thanks a million.

Yeah I thought they where good..
After a few minutes playing they crap out... :(

But it was pretty cool to have them run at that.

Your memory is pretty high, what kind is it hynix or samsung?

I've got 8E-GC33 Samsung. They usually fall within a couple of MHz of 8E-GC2A found in the Pro's.

    this is a stock 9800 pro? those clocks are unreal... ive only seen clocks like that on either pelt video systems or water chilled... lets see some benchies!

I got nearly 7k... But I had too lower the clocks because at 500mhz it crashed after 2 minutes, possible due to heat indicating if I got watercooling I could possible hold 500mhz.

Is this a supercore or something? :)

Damn, that memory amazes me more than the core.

That ram is 2.86ns, which is 350mhz, roughly.

The core is very nice too...

Yea those scores are great but I dont believe this ns business when it comes to the 9800s. I got a pro 256 with hynix 2.5ns ram. Flashed to xt got overdrive and its at like 70 degrees, 72 on load, the ram came with no heatsinks and hits over 50 degrees on load with an external probe. The ram burnt my finger and there is no way that its going to get to the "minimum" 400 as advertised without artifacting.

LoL damn i really envy those scores. :p

lol...

I'm going to reinstall XP Pro soon, after I just finish playing with longhorn. I'll try some benchmarks, if they work.

mod the VGA silencer to cool it more, then you may be able to keep those clocks. There are several mods, 2x80mm fans, 2x60mm fans, 1x120mm fan and even a blower mod. All except the blower mod require taking the plastic shield/fan off and using the VGA silencer heatsink....or go water and try. you may have to lower it to 480/390 or so to be stable, but either way thats a nice overclock.

I vote 2x80mm by the way.

Me too, read sig :D They bolt right to the VGA heatsink...but i think i'm going to look for some more powerful 80mm fans, I got 37cfm each right now, like to see 50cfm each for 100cfm total

Your going to make yourself deaf.

If this guy really wants to see those cards fly, and if he has a little insanity in him, I would suggest that he go with a pencil trick mod, maybe he will gain a good 30mhz core, 40 mhz on ram.

One more thing, have you lapped your silencer? If not it may be worth a go.
