Ummm..
Does any1 know how to take Artic Silver Epoxy bonded HS off of my AGP chipset of my BE6-2 rev. 1.2? Oh crap....some months ago, I did some cooling on mobo chipsets. I think I made little bit thick layer of it when I applied it. I shouldn't have done that.. This is why I can't put any of descent Alpha or Globalwin coolers! That HS is stuck pretty damn hard on that AGP chipset!! If I try to rip if off, I think the whole AGP chipset will get ripped off also. help.....

I know I f*ed up.. I shouldn't have used Epoxy... should've used Aritic Silver thermal compound..

you see the cut n modified HS on a AGP chipset there?.. yes, that's it. now helppp!!!!!..... me

okay, be very gentle when doing this. get a knife from the kitchen, something strong, but flat. Put it under the hsf, and CAREFULLY bend up and go around the hsf doing this and it will come loose. Should not take too long, but i used this and it works. just be careful about it and go slowly.

I dont know if this applys to your particular situation but the way i remove glued on vid card heatsinks it simply get a fillet knife work it carefully around the edges and pry like mad. Now i see youve used a lot, my voodoo had tons of glue on it, just pryed like mad. If your willing to take the risk i believe this is one of the only ways to get it off without the aid of an "act of god". ohhh btw i put it in the freezer 1st. (ziplock bag of course) dont know if this helped at all but it worked out in the end.

Thanks Dunno260 and OpenFriday. yeah.. that's good idea dunno260.. I'll try that tomorrow.. do some serious mommyboard surgery hahaha.. yes, OpenFriday, i think that is good idea putting in the freezer. I think I'll use that method if I will have trouble getting this thing off.

the method works well, just be gentle. This method also works for removing cpus from hsfs with thermal pads.

you may also want to try this.......
freeze it. that is right put it in the freezer overnight and when it is frozen the paste comes off much simpler, you can use less force ,so less risk....
works for video card 100%

or like OpenFriday said.... pry away at it
