I buy a new sytem, it's an amd 1700+ whith a Volcano 7 but I think that is too hot, I live on a very hot region on South America and I would like some opinions about use a thermal compoud, it's the diference so big or it's just story

I used the have the valcano 5 on my system, but it not that good of the heatsink. It also came with a thermal pad. I pill it off and used artic silver. I noticed about 3-5 c decrased in temp. So I guess it is a good thing to use.

Welcome to the forums! keep in mind you will not see your best results with ASII untill you have run it for a day or two. Also make sure the suface on the bottom of the heat sink is flat and smooth.
good luck in your quest for better cooling.
