I have a LeadTek GF3 Ti 200 128mg- its default clock it 175/400- and it gets 7982 in 3dmark 2001- when i clock it at 250/480 -----------STABLE playing any game-------------/ it only gets 6990 - what is my problem?

3dmark

Just a guess, but try to back your core down to 230 and test it. When you up the clocks too high, 3dmark score drops because it is becoming unstable. Although it may be stable in games, 3dmark will reveal the fainter signs of instability. Also, the memory clock is much more important than the core clock for performance.

You have to find the sweet spot, where you get the highest 3dmark score (then join the overclockers 3dmark team!), and decide if you want to run it maxed out, or if you should give your hardware a break and a small safety margin by backing off the settings a tad for actual use.

Try leaving the gpu at 250 and backing the ram down to 470. Use sisoft to check system ram and tweak it for the highest bandwidth. Test it on 3kmk2001 for stability and of course score. Lets see if you can get it up over 8g.
