Say, you don't have a 64-bit OS laying around, do you Sent? That you could see if it works?
As a matter of fact no. However the BIOS shouldnt diable EMT64. It would be like trying to disable SSE or SSE2 because the BIOS doesnt support it. It would be damn near impossible for that to happen as I understand things

I'm really hoping that the LGA775 mobo's with 865PE chipsets support EM64T.... Especially Abit's AS8 and Asus's P5P800

I saw this on another web site. How authentic it is, I don't know. However, if this is true, at least with all ASUS boards, that at least 64 bit will work on the 865PE chipset. Doesn't say anything about changing the multipliers.

I just bought a P5GD1 and a 630 so once I get it up and running I'll post and let you know whether I can change the multi's or if it even has support for EIST at all. I have heard that only the 925 chipset can do that and I am getting the 915 chipset.

You might want to trade in your AS8 Sen for a P5P800.

ASUS Motherboards Provide Complete Driver Support for 64-bit High-speed Computing
ASUS P5 Motherboard Series Provides the Ideal Platform for Intel 600 Series CPU with EM64T and EIST Technology

Taipei, Taiwan; February 17, 2005 ASUSTeK Computer Inc. (ASUS), the worldwide leader of motherboards, today introduced the P5 motherboard series that features complete driver support for the next-generation 64-bit computing architecture. The P5 motherboard series is the reliable platform for Intel 600 series CPU that incorporates EM64T (Intel® Extended Memory 64 Technology) and EIST (Enhanced Intel SpeedStep® technology) power saving technologies. With superior engineering capability, ASUS proudly presents the high-quality motherboards to bring advanced system performance, faster memory access and increased productivity. Moreover, the P5 Series supports both 64-bit and 32-bit operations, providing excellent system compatibility and upgrade flexibility.

Complete driver support for 64-bit computing
64-bit drivers are critical for the transition from 32-bit to 64-bit architectures and ASUS is the first to provide complete 64-bit driver support. For the ASUS P5 motherboard series, the 64-bit drivers are available for download from the company website: www.asus.com as well as in the motherboard support CD.

ASUS P5 series supports Intel EM64T
All of the ASUS P5 Series is Intel EM64T ready, meaning the 600 series CPU of the P5 motherboard is able to run new 64-bit code and access larger amounts of memory. The P5 Series offer high-quality video and audio performance as well as 3D rendering for excellent digital media entertainment. In addition, the P5 remains fully compatible with existing 32-bit applications and operating systems running in legacy mode.

ASUS P5 series supports Intel EIST technology
With the Intel EIST technology, the P5 motherboards are able to automatically adjust the CPU’s core voltage and core frequency according to system performance demand, establishing a self-managed, lower-power consumption, and less heat environment. The ASUS P5 series motherboards are BIOS updated and Intel EIST ready, providing an excellent leverage between power consumption and system performance for users demanding a cost-effective power management solution.

I was just at the ASUS site and it looks as though you're right in saying the P5P800 will support EM64T. Thing is there only looks to be one model P5P800 and it doesn't have the ICH5R south bridge chipset (for RAID 0 with 2xWD360GD's) or onboard firewire...... or have I missed something somewhere.

Nope - you're right. Unfortunately the P5P800 isn't as feature rich versus the AS8. However, you can always add an SATA PCI Raid and Firewire Card to get the additional functionality. Somewhere I read that the actual highest clocks on socket 775 had been done on the P5P800 - I might be wrong though.

Thanks. Tried that today and it helped a bunch. Still no multiplier adjustments but oh well. Atleast I can get PAT working near stock.
