Hi...

I recently got an Asus A7V-E motherboard, and have a Duron 900 (unlocked via pencil) installed in it. In the process of trying to overclock it, I'm now to the point where I need to adjust the Vcore setting, only I can't find the adjustment in the BIOS! Does anyone have any knowledge of the Award BIOS and where/how you find both the Vcore adjustment as well as the clock multiplier setting?

By the way, I do have the board set for "Jumperfree" mode...

HELP!!! Anybody have any tips???

Best Regards,

Noel

The a7v-e is sh1te for o/c. AFAIK there is no easy way of adjusting vcore on this board (certainly not by software or by jumpers)

Not only that but 110 seems to be the top fsb speed via software. I will be trying to increase fsb beyond 110 (hopefully 133) using the jumper settings that work for the a7v tonight.

Hey...

Thanks for the reply...though I hope you're wrong! :)

Actually, read this excerpt from Asus's web site about the A7V-E:

"Allows processor settings and easy overclocking of frequency and Vcore voltage all through BIOS setup when 'JumperFree' mode is enabled. Easy-to-use DIP switches instead of jumpers are included to allow manual adjustment of the processor's external frequency."

So you can see where I got the idea that this board had the ability to adjust the Vcore & Clock multiplier in BIOS!

Anyone else have any information?

Thanks!

Noel

Well, I've arrived home, and I was hoping to use the jumper settings detailed here: http://www.vr-zone.com/guides/asusA7V/

But the A7V-E is different enough to the A7V to make this info useless... e.g. bus frequency on A7V-E is set using 5 jumpers, whereas on the A7V it's only 4. Funny thing is the A7V lets you go all the way to 133 with those 4 jumpers, but the A7V-E has 5 and can only go to 110 (or at least I can only find documentation that shows the jumper combo's up to 110, here's hoping there are other combo's that for some reason asus decided to keep to themselves)

There are no jumpers on my board to set vcore, and nothing in the bios (I have the latest bios - 1002D, and there don't seem to be any beta's in the pipeline either :-( )

If anyone knows of any undocumented jumper settings for fsb speed on the a7v-e, please let us know.

Welcome to suckerville I recently bought an Asus Cuv4x-d dual socket 370 board with big plans of over clocking it.
I looked on the board and looked in the BIOS I couldn't find it anywhere.
The book said it has adjustable Vcore their web site said it has adjustable Vcore.
So I emailed them after posting on their website help area.
Reply in short was.... Sorry this board doesn't have the facility to increase the voltage core as it is set automatically.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I felt like you feel now when I found out.
