asus a7v with win2000 problems

Hi, I am trying to find out if anyone has been having this problem. My problem is when I start up win2000 on a 50/50 basis I get a stop error(aka bsod). I have run it with just a video card and get the same thing. I have also installed all updates, critical and service pack 2. I am starting to think that the board might be mildly bad. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
list of errors at boot up that has shown up:

Config_initialization_failed
page_fault_in_nonpaged_area
