Hi,
I have recently purchased a KV7133 mother board (rev 1.04) and have found a problem.
I am currently running a Athlon Thunderbird 1 Ghz cpu.
While going through the bios I decided to change the multiplier settings and according to the manual if the CPU multiplier is locked it won’t have any affect.
I changed the multiplier firstly using higher than x10 and found no problem, however when I lowered the multipler to only x8 the computer failed to boot. It wouldn’t even reach post!!. I was at the point of putting the board back in the box and sending it back! I managed to get the computer to boot only by removing the Ram (Micron Ram), re-starting thus obtaining the warning bleeps, then installing the ram again. The computer would then boot starting with the bios safe mode.
At the time the CPU multiplier was locked and so thought that this must have been the problem. Since then I have unlocked the CPU and have had exactly the same results. Again when I tried to reach 1100 or under-clocking to 850 or the computer would not boot, not even reach post. Only removing the memory and reinstalling would allow me to boot the machine??
This must be a bug, as soon as a multiplier is reached that the Mobo does not like it simply won't let you boot??

I hope someone can help?

Greg
