Hi,

I just purchased a Asus CUBX-E motherboard and it crashes after ~10 minutes no matter what settings I use. I got a Celeron 633 FC-PGA from a company that tests them for overclocking and they state that it runs stable @ 950 MHz. It came with a Global FOP-32 fan. It will even crash at 66 FSB. I also have a Celeron 300a that has been running @ 450 MHz on a Gigabyte GA-6BA motherboard for over a year with no problems at all. It crashes in the CUBX-E also. My tower case has a fan located at the bottom blowing in. Does this sound like a overheating problem or what?

Please help....

Sure does! Make sure your heatsink is sitting squarely on the cpu die. You should have a THIN layer of thermal compound between them. Sometimes the heatsinks aren't flat and can cause similar problems- especially in low cost units like the orbs.

Hey Thanks!,

Can you recommend a better fan? One that is easier to install. I feel like I'm going to break something when pushing in the spring clip of this fan/heatsink. I'm using TECH SPRAY Transistor Silicone Grease Heat Sink Compound, is this right?

Thanks again.
