ASUS CUSL2 not supporting 1000mhz bootup ???

Hi all,

Does anyone have trouble booting P700e o/ced to 1000mhz. My system doesn't seems to be able to support 1000mhz startup. Right now i can only turn on the com with just 933 (FSB = 133), if i set to FSB => 135, the machine will set off the alarm until i unplug the main. Then afterwhich i have to go into BIOS to reset FSB=133 in order to startup, but once after startup, I can reboot the computer and o/c to 1050 stable from the BIOS if i don't switch the main off.
Can anyone help me with this problem?

I believe that this has been a feature of many Asus mainboards since the P2B. Don't sweat it. Or don't shut down your machine.

That's the famous asus "cold boot problem" I have that problem myself and haven't found a solution yet other than to join a couple of the cpu pins together and so on!

What happens is it posts on cold startup at default voltage and then swithes the voltage to what you have selected in the bios!

So if your chip won't post that speed at default voltage your screwed! Crappy hey?

No it supports fully 1000 Mhz. because I already overclocked my piii 700e@1000 without any problem at 1.8-1.85 Volts.
These are my suggestions :
1. Go to BIOS by pressing Del
2.At the page regarding CPU temp, Vcore , Fan : Reset every value to IGNORE
3. Adjust the voltage of VIO by putting the jumper in a new method different from the factory default ( Look at your manual and search for VIO ) When u overclock, u have to add some voltage to your RAM. Its standard default is 3.30 Volts. Adjust it to 3.4
4. Do not forget to set everything in Temperature Page of BIOS to IGNORE
5. All will be fine, I hope so. Know that the cooling system is so important. Besides, not every CPUs are made equal
