Has anyone had any luck using a slocket on this board. I am using one now, but the board doesn't seem to be powering up completely. The fans come on an the keyboard lights come on. Thats it. No beeps, monitor not getting a signal(know the video card is good and the motherboard is good). Any ideas? Using a Super Slocket-III(supposed to work with celeron, p3 and cyrix 370 chips)

If I were you I would get a ASUS brand slotket.
Like an ASUS 370-DL, since the mobo is ASUS and the Slotket is ASUS you should have no probs.

I use a ASUS P2B Rev 1.02 with a ASUS Slotket 370-DL running a C2 600 @ 900 at 100FSB

Btw all credits goes to Tong Yan who wrote the article link posted by KillOrBe. If it wasnt for him, I'll still be stuck with a P2 350

Thanks for the response. Got some good ideas from your posts. Going to try another slocket with the same chip. It's the only thing that seems to make any sense.

I've got the P2b-f with an Asus slocket(370-dl) and I'm running a 566celly at 953 wih no problems at all. Stock hsf, 1 case fan. Same revision. I had to rely on feeling the slocket and HS to see about temps. The slocket won't let me get a reading off the mo monitor. I'm working on that. Check the cpu data base. I love this board.

P2B-F doesn't have traces for reading the on-die temp. My Asus S370-133 slotket has the ability but it's useless :( I tried wiring the connectors (B14/B15) from connector to temp connector but it gave me false values (-42°/-48° depending which way I connected. I think one is forced to use thermistors with this MB.

Is the board an OEM or retail? I mean is it part of a manufactured system like Compaq or HP, Aptiva etc.. If it's OEM the chance of the slotket workin are pretty slim I think. Also make sure the BIOS is updated. If the Slotket has a jumper for chip selection, make sure it's set to coppermine or FCPGA. I have OEM ASUS P2B98-XV that came in a HP Pavilion. I found out the hard way that it wouldn't work . I had the same results that you dexcribe when I installed my Slotket. Couldn't flash the BIOS beacuse HP had a custom BIOS chip that only accepts an HP flash. I could have tried replacing the BIOS chip but still might not have worked so I got a new board.
Good luck, and Welcome aboard .
