Am all my friend has the AsUs P2L97 Motherboard with a 300 cpu in it and is able to get a P3 533 for cheep..
The mother board is slot 1 and supports up 2 a P2 500.
am wondering if he would be able to but the slot 1 P3 533 in his board with no problems?

i am also wondering if anyone knows how to overclock
i dont know all that much about intel board but couldnt find anything in the bios and there were no jumpers on the board from what i could tell.

Thank for your help

The P2L97 uses the LX chipset, its rated fsb speed is 66. I'm not sure what your options are but you may have the ability to raise the fsb. If you were to install a cheap Celery and experement with the fsb you might get 83 or even highter. I don't think its voltage regulator or microcode supports the new PIII Cu-mine or Celery II. :(
