Hi. Is anyone else running an Asus P3B-F with BIOS 1006 and a Celeron FC-PGA processor? I recently flashed to this new BIOS and installed a Celeron 566, cC0 stepping. The 1006 BIOS gives me a CPU ID error and Windows 98 thinks the new Celemine is a Pentium III. I'm getting lockups with intensive CPU applications. Thanks for any information you can provide.

I've got Asus P3B-F and Celeron 633 FCPGA and I have no problems running it. My MoBo's hardware revision is 1.04 and the BIOS revision is 1006. As you know the core of the FCPGA Celeron is the same as the core of PIII, so that is why your Windows98 is "cheating" you.
Did you oc your Celery and if so how much did you get?
