I've read 2 posts from 2 different people that said the P3V4X supports FSB up to 150MHz.
Mine says it goes up to 166FSB/41.50PCI.

What's up with this, do i have a Special Edition?
Also does yours support 9 or 10x multiplier (dunno bout mine).

You must have read on of mine....turns out i must have the newer version 150FSB with multiplyer of 8....it looks like the older ones had more options..

EDIT:has anyone been able to enable higher bus speeds on the new boards using software programs?

The older ones used a different clock generator, capable of going to 166mhz FSB, the newer ones use a winbond clock generator, which maxes out at 150mhz.

OK mine is old......(bought it less than a year ago and came with the LATEST BIOS (1005 or something)), but as we all know: Buy something today and it was old yesterday.
So 2 me it still doesn't make sense.

If it came with the 1005 bios, then it has the newer clock generator chip. Because that's the revision when they added support for newer clock generator chips.

But why does mine support 166FSB if it's a newer one, and 'acaridans' doesn't support it, tho he bought it ~6 months later?

ASUS doesn't make sense to me, or there's gotta be something else going on.(must say I've always been satisfied with ASUS).

Check the small chip on the top right of the motherboard, beside the DIMM slots, if it's winbond, then it's 'supposed' to max out a 150

It says ICS (can't read the rest right now.................Drunk).
Does that mean they sold me a USED one, or an old one with the latest bios?
Not that I'm unhappy with it....................Strange.AFAIK the driver cd hasn't been opened before I got it, and for all the rest you might be able to notice it was/is a used mobo.....................nothing.

Anyhow THNX for the replies

One thing's for sure there are 2 versions

The ICS should go to 166mhz. If not, try updating to beta bios 1006.001
