ASUS P4S533 and a P4 2.4B ghz 533fsb

Call me a n00b if you must but please can some one explain to me how to over clock my processor and mobo? I Have the ASUS P4S533 MOBO and a P4 2.4ghz B 533mhz fsb processor. All I ask is for information on how I can over clock.

Increase the fsb by ptting the cpu in manual mode then raise it up 5 fsb at a time when it becomes unstable add 5% vcore to it and try again but watch ur temps so they dont go too high 50-60 max. If you dont have one get an aftermarket Heatsink and fan Swiftech and the slk's are always goodand Artic Silver 3 as a good thermal compound between the HSF and processor

you do all this in the bios during startup hit the delete key on the keyboard when it prompts u to hit the <del> to enter bios or setup

please refer to batboy's sticky thread referred to as the"secrets of overclocking revealed" which is for overclocking newbies, although the rest of the members here would be most willing to give you help virtually any time of day or night.

learn your way around the bios before you start changing settings! but you'll learn that the basics of overclocking are really very simple. by being an overclocker, you are in a unique position of knowing computer equipment so well that you are an expert at computer design and building. most of us know our way around virtually every brand of motherboard. we didn't learn our way around for profit in the usual case, but rather for the love of the hobby. have fun!
