Asus P5B delux - System Standby but fans keep running?

prior to owning my current p5B-deluxe board, i had a p5ld2 ...

with the p5ld2 upon entering system standby (which i used quite a bit) the *entire* system would stand-by ... including the fans.

since upgrading to the p5b-deluxe, whenever i enter system standby, the fans keep running as the rest of the system stands by.

!!!

totally bothersome.

can anyone let me know why this is the case? is there a setting i'm missing?

when i chose start -> turn off computer -> system standby ... i'd like the entire system, fans and all to stand by; is this possible with the p5b-deluxe?

Maybe try changing from the option from S1 to S3 in the BIOS.

Huh? What option?

Oh yeah, and so no one else has to do it, I'll give you the arrogant solution to this problem that doesn't help. "Don't use sleep mode, just shut your pc off". (I've asked this same question before)

(i'll drink to that)

arrogance. sometimes it's a good call.

it did work . but then the monitor refused to wake on wake . and then i tried the repost vga switch . and it still didn't work . and so . now . i'm simply going to use the power button.

Same route here, P5LD2VM DH before and now P5B-Dlx but same old D805 ! :D

Just uninstall all of those Asus stuffs AI thingy like AI Gear, AI NAP etc if you can live without them. Actually it is the AI NAP that caused this problem in my case, and after cleaning those junks, my rig is now can gracefully does stand-by or hibernate and wakes up properly too.
