Asus P5K WS + Q9300 (BIOS Issue)

Just put together a new machine consisting of a Q9300 (2.5GHz) and a Asus P5K WS motherboard. Upon initial boot it asked me too update the BIOS so it could properly support the chip, but after downloading the newest BIOS available and trying to flash, I get an error in EZ Flash saying that the BIOS does not match the board.

I also flashed to the second newest BIOS, and that BIOS loaded and flashed correctly, but I still need the newest version (v1004) because it still asks me to update the BIOS when I boot the machine up.


What the heck is the problem here? Anyone know how to fix it?

No help really. I guess maybe I can try and install Windows to update the BIOS if it will work

you may kill you board using windows update i wouldnt risk it try down loading afudos 29 or 32 and do it with that

Fixed it. Installed Windows on two cores and updated via Asus Update
