Hello, I wanted to post my setup to see if anyone could help me out a bit. here is my hardware:

mbooard: Asus P5W DH Deluxe
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 Allendale
Memory: Corsair CM2X512-5400C4 (2 512Meg sticks = 1 gig)

I have this machine OC'd and stable at 3.2 ghz. 400Mhz FSB x 8 clock multiplier.
I'd like to get to 3.4 or 3.6 if it's possible with this setup. anything i choose past 400 Mhz on the FSB is unstable or won't boot. i can set it to 410 and it will boot but is not stable and prime95 finds errors quickly..within 2 minutes.
can anyone give me any hints or tell me if i should be able to get this to 3.4 or 3.6? or anything beyond 3.2 ghz?
in the motherboard options it doesn't seem that i can change the clock multiplier. it's deadset on 8x.
any help is greatly appreciated!!
thanks.

Yep, you probably are not going to get far past 400FSb on the P5W DH. Mine won't run stable past about 411FSB. A board like P5B-D or DS3 is gonna get you higher.

I'm using the same CPU and motherboard that you have.

Might want to see about upgrading your RAM. Once I got some decent high performance RAM was able to overclock higher and more stable.

Been running 413x8 @ 3300 stable with PC6400 since Febuary. Booted successfully into Windows at 437x8 @3500 but heavy 3d gaming would cause stability issues.

So, dropped it down to 3300 and it has taken everything I could throw at it and then some, stable as can be. All on STOCK voltages. :)
