Asus's official word on A7M266 multiplier issue...

Okay this was their reply to me regarding the multiplier issue for the A7M266

"Due to AMD is strongly against the motherboard manufacturer to set
multiplier for avoiding the user's to overclock. So we have to wipe off the
multiplier. And we are not sure if we will release a version of BIOS that it
can support to set the multiplier. But in the near future we won't. If any
future problem, please feel free let us know."

So there you have it, not going to happen soon, if at all.
