I have an ASUS A7V133 RAID MB, I can set the Multiplier to 11,11.5,12......etc, but on post, it will only boot at 1466?? Surely the Multiplier is unlocked if I can Get 1466...Why not Higher, should I try a higher voltage?, the Bios Lets Me do it, Should I try v1005?, I have 1004 currently.
I am running it at 11x139 at the moment, but surely it can do better!! any thoughts would be appreciated.

Cheers dudes, and if you take a visit down under, drop us a line... "I do you good price.....;)"

Try setting it with the dip-switches instead of the bios, the Bios never set CPU speed very good for me on that board, and i had much better overclocking success using the dip-switches on it.

most definately crank up that voltage however i wouldnt go higher than 2.1v and wach those temps and upgading the bios couldnt hurt , and ya if you were able to change the multiplier then it is most definately unlocked and my buddy just got a 1.4 and it came unlocked

Cheers Guys, I'll give it a go, let you know tonite.....aussie time.

See ya, will try the dip switches, and up the voltage to 1.85 or so.

I tried that.........and

setting the dip switches to 11x only worked if I also set the FSB to 133 with the FSB dip switch as well.

setting the dip to 11.5x still only gave me 11x

with the FSB dips in the default position, I understand I should be able to still set the FSB in the BIOS. However even with the dips set in the default multiplier of 10.5x, it wouldn't even post unless I ALSO set the dips for FSB to 133.

the problem is... 133 is the highest RECORDED setting on the dips. another combination may set this higher, but I am not prepared to experiment!!

Still doesn't answer why I can't go over 11x, even with the voltage at 1.85v

any assistance would be appreciated

Well....
I'm not happy for your results.

Sorry, my english is rusted...

I'm from finland and i noticed, then here no one have been overclocked AMD 1.4 to over 2.0 Ghz.

But maybe i'm Jack@ss, but ...

in our forum, http:///www.muropaketti.com there is a article of AMD 1.4, and the guy have overclock [email protected]... and he promise to overclock more.

The page are in finnish, Sorry..!!!

hehe wow thats fast i saw a 1.2 os omething on hoda's site at 2500. i think most of use use practical cooling methods. but there are a few who just do it to the extreme

oh i forgot to ask did you end up flashing the newest bois? its rather strange that it would default down to 11x when the dipswitch is set to 11.5,it may be worth taking a look at the chips L1 bridges mybe only 1 or 2 were cut ya never know.

I couldn't get the SUS Update utility to install, it told me I had a missing DLL in the Temp directory somewhere, and I couln't work out where to get the DLL from to install it.

Tried to use the old method...AFlash... but could not run it cos all my drives are ntfs, and would not let me execute any files thru dos.

Says "unable to run in protected mode" or something...

Anyway, 11x will do me for now, I'll get a Dual Mobo when they've ironed out the bugs, with a couple of Palominos or something...Being a Genuine AMD Reseller...I might even be able to sweet talk one early...

Thanks for all your help guys,

I think maybe you are right....The bridges may be dodgy, but theres a warranty sticker over the L1s, and cos I upgrade to the fastest chip every time it comes out, I have to be able to resell Mine, Hence the Warranty sticker must stay:(

Cheers
