i bought an AMD athlon 1000mhz system
the cpu temperature gets to 57 celcius whithin the first half hour at idle, can someone tell me why its heating up so much, i have a superorb heatsink by Thermaltake but i have not put any silicon paste when installing the heatsink.
thanks

Pull out the plug and step away from the computer. Get in your car and go to radioshack. Buy thermal compound (~$5). Go home. Put a thin layer of thermal compound between the heatsink and the processor. Plug computer back in. See temperature drop 20C. That is all.*

*if outside of US, disregard the radioshack bit.

even better than that go to radio shack and pay1.09 for thermal grease and watch 20 degree`s melt away
