I'm using an Athlon XP 1900+ and I currently run at 48C idle. My VCore is 1.8V. A friend of mine said that seemed a bit high, so I tried to lower it a tad in my BIOS but it wouldn't let me lower it. The only other VCore settings I could set were 1.825 and 1.85, which I definitely don't want right now. Any suggestions/comments?

What board are you using? I ask because insocket temp probes are not that accurate and some motherboards are worse than others. If you want to know the true temp then you have to get something like a compunurse and place the probe next to the core.

Edit: what kind of cooling do you have?(HSF, Fans, etc...)

I'm using an Asus A7V266E motherboard. I'm using a GlobalWin CAKII 38 for the CPU (with fan), and I have one 80mm fan to blow in cool air over the AGP/PCI slots, while I have a PCI slot fan blower to pull away air from my AGP card, and the power supply fans to pull air away from the heatsink.

So would anyone know anything about lowering the voltage on the CPU? I switched the jumpers around on my motherboard to 1.75V but the CPU is still running at 1.8
