Athlon XP 2100+ good overclocker?

I heard it was really hard to unlock this cpu.So who out there has one,and how high did ya get it to.Was it worth the money or should i just get a 1900+ and oc that.I have a xp 1800+ now At 1790mhz i wanna know if i will get a big boost from a 2100+,and yes i may be wasting my money upgrading a 1800+ but hey a could be on the corner buying crack to, so there are worse things i could spend my money on.

Good for you. I do not know whether or not I would buy the 2100 as it is a somewhat risky maneuver to unlock it. I hear that there are some good 2000's. I personally am running a 1600 at 1.72 and am just waiting for the 1900 to drop a little bit more.

The XP's can be a little difficult to unlock, it just takes some time and patience, and proper tools of course. As for the 2100, i think that processor is at the brink of where the XP's are gonna go. IMHO, to get this processor to any speed to justify the price increase you'll have to get some nice cooling, and maybe do a volt mod.

There's no entries in the CPU database for the 2100's. I'd say go for it if you got the coin, but i don't see why you'd wanna upgrade from an 1800. I'd wait for something new like the TBred or the Hammer. The Palimo core is pushed to it's limits.

I would definately wait for the T-Bred, not a long lait and who knows how high it will go . . .2ghz?

Yeah you guy's are right i'll get a Tbred.I am so impatent I heard May, most likly,any idea what the highest one will be?I heard 2200+.

I read an unlocking article somewhere, maybe toms hardware, to unlock the 2100+ they had to use a dremel to cut bridges. I'd say this is a little more than tricky downright nerves of steel!
I can see it now I have my dremel in hand and the 2100 on my bench top, already nervous as hell, and my girlfriend walks up behind me. Just as I start to make the first cut she taps me on the shoulder sh*t it was a nice proc!
