Now im pretty clued-up about nvidia cards and their performance, but what nvidia cards do the various ati models compare to?

the 9000>=Gf4 MX
the 8500>9000
the 8500=Ti4200
while the 9700 >EVERY CARD ON EARTH

the ATI cads are priced much lower than comparable Nvidia cards, making them better bang for the buck.

I live in eastern Europe and Ati vpu's are more expensive then comparable Nvidia gpu's

the ATI cads are priced much lower than comparable Nvidia cards, making them better bang for the buck.
