We sell these at Best Buy i was thinking of picking one up. So i dont need to buy a HDTV to watch things in HD with this? I guess a monitor is basicly HD or am i wrong?

well, i've gotten it and tested it out. i dont have time for a full review now, i'll write more later, but two quick things, don't buy it from compusa (duh), and don't expect any of the reviews you might read to apply to your personal setup... i'll explain that one further later.

Ati Hdtv

I installed the HDTV card in an Aria case in Nov'04. Works great but only on monitor (no TV out). Hot in the Aria -- I need more fans! I learned that HDTV is great fut offered by few OTA channels in my area.

how many HD's channles do u have>

With this card you can only pick ip open HD channels, u cant plug some cable into it - and how many companies are broadcasting in HD now?

Also i heard some law could be passed that make it illegal to take HD frequencies or something for free.

...it should work just like your HD cable box.

The HD channels will be captured in high definition, the regular channels will be in regular format. The HDTV Wonder will not convert non-HD signals into HD. It will just allow you to capture video from HD source, which you cannot do with a regular TV card.

For example, I use my AIW to capture video from my HD cable box. I use a HD box because my cable provider's regular digital boxes have the S-Video port disabled. With this setup, I can capture video from all channels that I subscribe to that are not HD. Just like using a non-HD television...you can still watch the regular channels, but not the HD channels.
