i have been trying to overclock my radeon sdr. it will only run stably (not prducing graphical glitches) at 164mhz. I had it running at 170, but i would get a ton of graphical errors, a lot of the time when i was just sitting idly. I've read reviews saying that the radeon should beable to go to 180 safely. I have no made any mods to the card. I am thinking about fitting a fan on to the heatsink on the card, though I'm not really sure what the problem is and i'm just assuming heat. I'm new to overclocking and everything. I only have 1 fan on the front of the case blowing in and 1 fan on the back blowing out along with the psu blowing out obviously. any suggestions?

heat

Welcome to the Forums!

Put a fan on the card's heatsink. That'll help alot. You could also add little heatsinks to the ram. Or add fans to your case in general. Heat is a major issue when overclocking.

I have that same card. I can only run at 175/175 without artifacts. I've found that the ram can't be overclocked very well at all. I'm gonna try ramsinks maybe next week and see if I could go higher. Right now, I'm using a crystal orb on the core.

thanks for the tips, i dunno when i'll get to tinkering with it but should be in the near future, i'll post my results.
