ATI has a trade-up deal. You can get 9800 pro for $249 plus $12
shipping. You have to give them a early version of ati card.
What do you guys think?

Actually ATI's trade up program allows you to send Any Manufacturers Video Card as a Trade. not just an early ATI card. I've heard of People sending old Trident and Cirrus Logic cards and the like for Trade.

From Terms and Conditions @ ati.com....

"The ATI Trade-up Program is available only to owners of an ATI or other manufactures graphics card who reside ...etc. etc"

Not bad....but you add the shipping of your old card plus the cost of the new card and you might as well buy a new one from a hardware site.

wow any card ^^ i have soooooo many s3 cards from waay back when. Though again you can get that same card cheaper else were so it really isnt that great of a deal.

True, But you send in the really old card for trade and still have your current card to sell which will help defray costs further...

Maybe i missed something, but where else can you get a retail 9800pro for less than $249? Other than that microcenter place that had a 3 week backorder on them......

So i can blindly buy a used 9800pro from a stranger on ebay or get a new retail 9800pro straight from ATI for the same price......hmmmmm i wonder what is the better choice
