ATi is about to release another video card iwth 512mb, probably the X900 XT (name is not known yet, will be know by febraury 27th). Ati also introduced the X850 XT PE, but Nvidia has seem to be "stuck in place" with the 6800 ultra. nothing new, putting SLI aside, what is nvidia doing!? :-/

Can't really put SLI aside, because SLI w/2 6800gts (or possibly even 6600gts) will either keep up or beat the newest ati???xt at probably around the same cost or a little more.

I am sure Nvidia has another core out there they are developing (or developed, just under wraps), it'll be a later release then the ati card but how much is the ATI card gonna be? My guess is around $7-800 if its a 512mb with like 32 pipes.

woah lets not compare costs her each 6600GT is about 200, and an SLI board isnt cheap either. I heard that this Ati card was supposed to double the speed of the X800, but im not sure where that thread was...

x850 is nothing more than an x800 with higher clocks. No more than 5% gains. Not to mention 512mb right now with todays games is pretty worthless. I would say Nvidia is in the lead right now with SLI. ATI has nothing to do but counter it with a new card, hopefully the x950 (which i will gladly buy :p). I'm an ATI fanboy, but as of today (2/26) i'm giving Nvidia the nod as far as advancement is concerned.

lol cmon now. Well i hope they do, honeslty though, i really like those things mostly because of how they look. If you've got a mobo with a red PCB such as the abit Fatal1ty, then your set! some red cathodes, and a silver or black case. :drool::drool:

Nvidia has to be doing something. The new ATI card that is rumored to be so much faster is also rumored to be able to run AMR (ATI's version of SLI). I'm thinking maybe the 3 times faster than an x850xt that I read somewhere is with 2 cards in AMR. If the card was actually 3 times faster, imagine 2 of them in AMR. It would be ridiculous.

Standy by. nV is planning on releasing the G47 soon which is the first arcetecture not based on any previous Geforce offerings. It should be monsterous
