Just got a pair of Ath a700's in the mail. These things are awesome. Give me some suggestions of songs to listen to with these new bad boys. I really like rock. So anything with screaming guitar solos. or really just anything. Help my broaden my music horizons.

Check out lossless tunes on a good source.

Few things I like to listen to with new cans.

Harold Faltermeyer - Axle F
Ultrasone test CD.
Murray Head - One Night in Bangkok ( The real version is over 5 minutes long)

There is hundreds of tunes I could suggest. These three things are some of my favorites for sampling a new set of cans. The Murray Head song is a very diverse song musically. So it is fun to listen to on a new set of cans. Long as you have high quality version to take a puff off of.

Hmm, only things I can recommend are the early AC/DC stuff, the first three RATM albums (after that they got the modern loudness treatment, sounds like pooty), and the only album these guys made.

To a lesser extent, as far as rock goes, I like B'z, even though their stuff has loudness issues. Fleetwood Mac doesn't really count, but rumors is still a great album.

Whatever you get, make sure you get it in good quality. Personally I'm perfectly fine with V0 (Variable bit rate, 245kbps target average) MP3s, but FLAC is nice as well (even though I can't hear the difference for the life of me). I'm actually a fan of physical CDs, but I guess I'm just old fashioned... wait CDs are old fashioned already? Pooty.

Oh, I'm not that well vested in rock musics, electronic/dance is my specialty. :)

when i get to play w/ cans i like muse-stockholme syndrome, brand new-sic transit gloria, everclear-invisible, and the intro to cake-cold blue reason..

Astronomy by Blue Oyster Cult, The live version off the album Some Enchanted evening. Excellent guitar work and great sounding Synth, Sounds great with my Grado headphones.

Yes- Roundabout (lossless)

I was talking to a guy today at a high end audio shop here in Chicago, and he was saying that in the audiophile world, that is constantly at the top of the list. There is so much variation in the song. Tie one on, slap on your cans, and wait for the middle...

Any Dire Straits...

I've been listening to a bunch of my vinyl and loving it. I got a lot of stuff stamped on 180 gram vinyl. But I think what sounds the best is my Copy of Funkadelic - Maggot brain... Awesome guitar in that song.
Aqualung by Jethro Tull on Vinyl too.

I appreciate all your comments lets keep them coming

Listened to Metallica's version off the Garage days Album and i'm a huge metallica fan but it doesn't quite touch the BOC Version, I just so happened to have the album on hand thanks for reminding me of how good a song it is.

If you're into metallica i would suggest taking a listen through S&M it was a very rich experience for me with the ad700's i just got with the differences in soundstage, ect it may not give you similar results. however i found that these phones really brought out the orchestra part which has only ever seemed muted to me with other headphones (cheapies) and lower quality speakers, ect.

**still awaiting a dedicated sound card, i hope the fedex guy isnt disturbed with me sitting in front of the door waiting when he comes with the package friday**

I bought a set for $85 off of amazon as a backup to my beyerdynamic dt770pro 80ohm headphones, and I actually prefer the AT's for BC2 BY FAR.
