can anyone explain what this actually is? or if i'm calling it the right thing? i just recently ordered a fan from svc, but accidently put the wrong zipcode in (i put a 9 instead of a 0). unfortunatley, on my credit card statement, there are 3 charges for the same fan that i ordered. i called svc, they said the automated machine tries it again after the initial charge is not authorized. if its not authorized, why does the charge go through?

Probably charge you because they have to check to make sure that all the information sinks up, and you haven't stole someones card and using it. But charged three times. I hope they are going to credit you the other two, and just charge you the authorization charge.

Its called an authorization and capture, what merchants do is authorize your card and do an address check at same time (it has to be done together). If the address check came back as bad (which in this case it did due to the zip code) they decline the transaction (called the capture). So no funds were transferred to SVC however you will see the transaction on online statements etc. They generally disapear within a week and won't actually appear on any printed statement.

i am done ordering with svc, even though they have good deals but i got that to and it was never resolved, and it was over a week and i needed the parts soon, so i just ordered with newegg, and for now on i will stick with newegg i have ordered from them tons of times and they have great service.

all resolved. i think i will stick to ordering from newegg from now on though. the tax sucks, but the service is unbeatable.

I don't necessarily think that they have gone down hill(svc anyway) I just think they are getting more popular, and therefore you get more problems reported so it seems as they are going down hill, but they are really probably the same, what happened up there wasn't their fault and as stated it was cleared up.

Order From Jabtek, they have awesome deals on coolers and fans every once in a while plus their normal prices aren't to shabby and there service is good.

Thanks for the props, its great to hear good feedback once in a while !

I have dealt with SVC and Frozencpu, as a consumer I honestly wouldn't hesitate to recommend both, I've spoke to both owners and they are all genuine, in my book you cannot spend your money at better places than www.svc.com and www.frozencpu.com !

I ordered a "universal" molex pin removing tool from svc that was supposed to remove both male and female pins. There is no way possible that this thing could remove a male pin. They ignored over five emails of mine, and phone support didn't help. SSS said he would make sure svc would see the thread I posted about it, but nothing happened. I ended up keeping the tool because I mostly needed to remove female pins anyway, but I will avoid svc in the future.

I placed an order 3 days ago not reading these threads. Yahoo shopping tells me its been placed and I should have received a confirmation. I emailed em yesterday and did not receive a reply. My CC has not been charged yet.
I wrote a second email today but wont get a responce till at least monday. I might call em. Do order confirmations/shipping take a long time?
