I'm looking for a cabinet to hold my receiver along with a 100 disk CD changer. I would like something that both allows air flow and allows me to filter the air.

Ideally, I would also like to keep my full tower server and mid-tower computers in this case as well but if the cost is too high, just the AV equipment will be fine.

I'm trying to think outside the box... no pun intended. I started by looking at full height server racks. I've also looked at smaller racks that are similar. Most are either out of my price range or allow for too much air flow with no filtering. I could, if the cabinet is large enough, install filtering material so I have not ruled anything out yet.

Another idea is more like a wooden cabinet. Something more like furniture. Something like this would be cheaper and might allow me to customize air flow. The ones I've seen would not give room for the computers but I could be fine with that.

Any ideas?

AV equipment is the same width as server equipment in most situations. Additionally many mid tower cases are actually 17" tall which lets you turn them sideways and fit into the same rack enclosure.

My first suggestion is to always get used/hand me down furniture not just for cost, but also if possible getting it made with real wood not OSB. That said nearly any TV stand with shelving will have 19" shelves that you can put AV/Servers into.

Something like this can be modified by putting a rack into the centre area and adding cooling with a hole saw in the back.
