Is AVG better than AVast? Avast has a monitoring system which it look in the files before i open them. Does AVG have this option? If so, can you send me the link to get home edition. Im not sure if i should continue with Avast.

I prefer AVG. I used Avast several years ago until I got hit with a virus while under its protection.

I know that's not scientific or anything. Heck, AVG isn't perfect either but I like AVG.

AVG is light and doesn't pester you about updates and configurations and whatnot. I've tried others but I prefer AVG.

Yes, AVG checks files before you open them just like Avast. One of the features listed on their website is "Realtime protection of files and e-mails".

I've been using AVG for awhile now and I'm very satisfied. I've installed it on all my family's PCs.

so would you say it has better features than Avast. Does it say what virus and how serious it is? such as minor to severe

I also have been using AVG for a long time now and very happy with it...

I got hit with a trojan the other day and it notified me right when it hit, and a little message pops up telling you what it is, where it is, and a few options to make it obsolete. Also it pops up with a picture of some ugly looking dude on the right side lol...

Funny, I switched to Avast due to getting hit with a virus while under AVG, lol. I haven't used AVG in a long while, but I thought they were gonna do away with the free version soon? Coulda been a rumor, but I really dig Avast. Been using it for a few years and as far as i can tell, has stopped several wannabe virus attempts.

Avast >= AVG ... IMHO. I tried AVG for a while and didn't like it. Interface was funky, and didn't seem to do a good job. I run Avast on all my computer and haven't been let down yet.

I havent used Kaspersky becuase i havent got good reviews about it meaning i never heard of the program.
