Avocent switchview dvi kvm switch issues

I have the above 2 port kvm switch which has dvi and usb ports for monitors and keyboard/mouse. One system connected to this switch is a P4 northwood on an Asus p4p800se mb and ati radeon 9700. After working on this system for maybe 15-20 minutes, the display degrades and flashes on and off so it can't be viewed. Sometimes if I switch to the other system for a while and go back to system 1 the image will be stable for a while, but then repeat the problem. Sometimes, system 1 will be locked up if I try to go back.

Is my video card the problem?

Easy to check. Take the kvm out of the circuit and run for awhile to see if the problem occurs. If not, then it's the KVM. If it comes back without the KVM, then switch the monitor to the other system. If the trouble follows, then it's the monitor. If not then it's the vid card.

It looks like the problem is in the switch's video port. If I connect to the monitor directly from each pc I have no video isssues.
