I have been Ocing and im at 1.6-1-63 vcore and my temps read 45c idle and 58c load running prime 95......On this hs im running a Thermltake smartfan II... Shoulnd't i be getting better temperatures??
well first....abit has had a bad reputation for INCREDIBLY in-accurate temperature reading...so if u use an external temp probe, u should be getting lower, more accurate temps...
What do you mean by external temp probe? I mainly use hardware doctor temp probe to monitor my temps. yea its like 45 idle and 57 full load... I'm getting a little worried.... Here its summer right now where i live (Chile)... is it that my abit board is giving me wrong temperatures?,, im pretty sure i installed my heatsink correctly... anyways tomorrow im going to install a vantec tornado to replace my smartfan ( i dont care much about sound )....ill also verify that the heatsink has good contact with the IHS..oh and im using coolermaster premium thermal compound
Well like you said, abit mobo has bad temp readings, well today i got a vantec tornado (84.1CFM) and i reapplied AS5 on the IHS, but following the adequate instructions this time . From doing this i get temp readings now, full load 50°c, and 41 idle which is what i was really hoping for .
when i get all my computer stuff i am getin the sp-94 too.
gona have that 92 fan i saw with 110 cfm. gona sound like a fighter jet takein off. with all my fans....then i might tear all the fans off and go to water lol....
just for the "fun" of it, could u put the smart II on and see the diff?... I have thoes 2 in the mail soon. going on a 2nd "Air" rig and would LOVE a head to head, smart II VS the tornado.
thanks! (can you do that without remounting the HS?)
The tornado goes at about 5800-6000 rpm and 84CFM, which is much more than the Smartfan, i also admit that i applied the TIM wrong to the IHS so that might have screwed me up some.
