While swicthing procs with a friend of mines comp during daignoses and such (the AXP2800 Barton of his isnt working correctly) I had my HSF plugged in but apparently the connection wasnt good because I had some stability probs and I was getting really ****ed. Then I checked my temps after it did a shutdown on its own and it was at 172 degrees!!   (flames on the face are kinda symbolic, well kinda).
Anyhow, everything is fine now, after having a few heart attacks I had the fan on again in no time and the temps went back down very rapidly. The question I have is should I redo my silver paste? There was a little bit of a smell in the room of maybe something getting hot, but it didnt smell like it was burnt, just hot. I think I am going to redo it, anyway but I figured I would ask just incase it if it would be a waste of time and paste. So what do you think?
